today during dinner i brought up the fact that since neither of my parents particularly enjoyed much academic success, i have already exceeded expectations, so they shouldn't be too suprised if i end up flunking my chinese test. again.
but they just laughed at me and told me to try harder.

on thursday i had this really queer dream.
i was in a great metal elevator and it had about a hundred buttons on its walls, and it took me to indonesia in 10 minutes!
i've been reading too much charlie and the great glass elevator.
and talking too much to the indonesian scholars.
